Fit guide

Because sizing is different for every era, we measure our clothing so that you the customer get an accurate idea of how the garment is going to fit you. Before buying an item please note the measurements to ensure a precise fit. Below is a detailed description of how we measure our clothing.

Fit guide for tops: shirts, dresses, jackets, etc. For bust/chest measurements we measure an inch down from the bottom of the armhole and straight across when the garment is flat. We double this number which equals the circumference of the garment. For example 17” across would equal 34” for the complete bust measurement. For waist and hip measurements we do the same as the bust (measuring straight across and doubling it) but at the appropriate area.

For sleeve we measure from the top of the armhole to the hem of the sleeve while the garment is flat.

For the length of the garment we measure from where the neck and shoulder meet down to the hem when the garment is flat.

Fit guide for bottoms: shorts, skirts, pants, etc.

For inseam we measure the inside of the leg from the crotch down to the ankle hem while the garment is flat.

For rise we measure Crotch seam to top of waist while garment is flat.

Shipping

Items are shipped within 48 hours of payment. Domestically with ship via Priority Mail (2-4 days) and internationally, via First Class Mail (anywhere from 2 weeks-1 month). For all domestic shipping you will receive a tracking number. For tracking or for a faster shipping service on international shipping please contact us to request another form of shipment (which will increase the price of shipping). For all insurance requests please contact us as well. We ship worldwide. We are not responsible for any taxes, customs fees or VAT fees for packages shipped internationally. We are not responsible for shipping errors related to incorrect shipping addresses. If your package is returned to me marked as "refused" "unclaimed" or "undeliverable" and you would like to ship it again, you will be charged the applicable shipping fee.

Returns

Penelope’s vintage does not accept returns for items that do not fit correctly as we provide measurements for you. Since all the items in the store are pre-owned we note every form of wear and tear if any at all and do not accept returns for items with minor imperfections. Please refer to descriptions, measurements and fit guides before buying. Penelope’s vintage only offers returns on items that have been grossly misrepresented for store credit or exchange only.
